All Saints CE 01

A few weeks ago the Bishop came to bless our new kitchen with holy water he told us that he was the Shepherd and the whole school was his herd of sheep. He asked for three volunteers, one was too slow, one was too fast and one was fine. After he had got into all of his party clothes he then put on his hat. Then he went into the kitchen and blessed our kitchen. We all ended with a prayer
and a big clap.

childrens rights

Yesterday Micky and Lukwan took pictures of the afternoon assembly. It was about children's rights. We learnt a lot about children's rights all week. We wrote our own rights and rules and ordered the most important to least important. It was really fun and everyone enjoyed the subject. Everyone was very passionate about every single thing we learnt and it made us think about how privileged we are and how ungrateful we are about the things we have when other people in other countries don't have anything. In class we watched a movie on U tube about a girl in Africa who never claimed or thought of herself unhappy. She went to school and loved it with all her heart. Other people in her town didn't go to school but she didn't boast about it she asked people if they want to go to school and she made a lot more children have an education. We also watched the sound of music. We debated about the father and whether the children should answer to a whistle. We all said that Captain Von trapp should be more like a loving father than a ship captain towards the children. They should not answer to a whistle as they are not animals and they should be able to call their father "dad" and not "Captain Vontrapp". In the assembly each class in the school told us what they had been learning about during the week.
Thank you for reading YR6's blog (by Micky and Lukwan).

Greek myths

Over the past couple of weeks in English we have been learning about Greek myths. We have read different types of myths like Theseus and the Minotaur, Daedalus and Icarus, Perseus and Medusa and The wooden horse of Troy. We have been writing playscripts and making up plays with partners and some of us showed them to year 5. Also for homework we had a list of greek people thet we had been learning about, then we had to find out infomation about that person and turn it into a poem, a poster or a speech. We painted pictures of Cyclops, The Minotaur, Icarus, Daedalues, The Medusa and the wooden horse of Troy, which are all from different Greek myths, we got in to groups and used all sorts of materials like tissue paper, paints, card and lots more.

These are our finished products.

This is Cyclops

This is the Minotaur

This is Medusa

This is Icarus

This is Daedalus

This is the wooden horse

The day we went to Fulham Football Club

It was on a Saturday afternoon when All Saints football team went to play on the Fulham pitch at half time .First we watched half of the match and then it was our turn. I guess all of us where a bit shy every one was looking at us when we were walking down. Our football team was too big so we got split into y5 and y6, y6 got put with y5 goal keeper who's name was Max. Y5 got put with y6 goal keeper, Na'shai. Candace and Hannah scored against Max and Samuel and Lukwan scored against Max too. Everyone cheered. I guess Na'shai is a very good goal keeper. After that we had to go back to our seats then the match continued and Fulham won 3-1 hurray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
